How a Regular Human Can Find Their Niche

The big buzz-phrase at the beginning of 2006 is ‘Niche Marketing’. If you find your niche and market it like crazy, the gurus cry, you can be a zillionaire by March. Great.

So where is this niche, and how will you recognize it when you stumble into it?

Many expensive courses are offered teaching Internet Marketing, and most have some important links missing. How does the average person find their niche, without a background in marketing? As a beginner, you may just want to supplement your current income, and hopefully, eventually, quit your day job. The very average advice offered for hundreds of dollars is ‘find your passion, research on the internet and Clickbank, develop your own product, and there you go. So let’s help you expand this into a sensible plan.

Grab a pen and paper, and try some new ideas. What did you want to be when you grew up? If you really are a fireman or train engineer, you have an excellent niche, with a lot of information and stories to tell. If you aren’t what you planned to be when you were twelve, take it up again now, study your dream occupation, and become an armchair expert.

Do you have a hobby you are passionate about? Not everyone does, and passion means different things to different people. What subject do you love to talk about that no-one else you know will join you in? What are you willing to keep talking about even when no-one else is willing to listen? These favourite subjects of yours show the basis of passion. The internet is the new galaxy here on earth, and there’s bound to be people outside your little sphere who want to hear what you have to say, and might be willing to pay for that opportunity.

Take notes the next time you go to a magazine rack. What are the first three magazines that grab your attention? Each could be your general niche to start with. Look through your book collection at home, and find a common theme that is obvious, or have someone else do that for you.

A niche can be defined as ‘a position particularly well suited to the person who occupies it’. Where you see yourself fitting in the best might be your niche.

If the place that suits you best is not the number one hot topic on the internet today, that’s ok. Start with one subject that you feel eager to work with, and build a working knowledge that you can develop into an information project. The practice you gain can be used to make a second niche for yourself, and a second on-line business.

There are many other ways to find your little piece of the net, and I’ve found an extremely valuable resource with three free ebooks and several hours of video that will help you generate more ideas than you will be able to deal with in a lifetime. All you need really is sitting in your head right now, you just need the keys to unlock it.

Helpful Strategies for Selling Leather and Leather Products Online! – Part 1 of 4

When someone walks through your door, it is quite likely that a sales person is available and able to assist them with any questions. At that moment in time, specially in a leather oriented business, many aspects of the human sensory spectrum are in full swing. They can smell the unique scent of genuine leather, they can see and touch the smooth buttery leather and most importantly they can hear and understand what you have to say about your leather product offerings. Put all these things together and there is a very good chance you are going to make a sale! … Now try to accomplish this on the Internet.

It goes without saying that the Internet can enhance the bottom lines of many, if not all, leather oriented businesses, however, did you know that there are obstacles associated with selling online that can literally sink your leather business if you are not prepared?

For the purpose of this article, let us define the term “online commerce” as “the electronic selling of leather and leather products through an online shopping cart environment”.

There are certain issues that a business should take into account before even contemplating opening up an online shop.

First let me start off by asking you a simple question. When was the last time you fired up your computer and said “I am going onto the internet to do some shopping?” I am willing to bet, that’s not too many times, if any. Most people hop on the internet to do research, or if anything, to do a little window shopping! That’s right … to look around and see what’s available. Very few people hop on the internet looking to buy something, but this does not mean you can’t sell to them! All this means is that you need to treat them a little differently to ensure they buy from you.

Here are some strategies to help you get started.

1. Develop your online catalogue with the first time shopper in mind all the time.

I can’t begin to count how many leather industry sites out there that are falling short in this department. Your company website has to take on the roll of your top sales person. It needs to provide as much information as possible to your potential customers. What we are talking about here is not only information on how to reach you, but detailed product specific information, product uses, methods for payment, shipping options, refunds etc.

You need to position your leather company as a mentor or teacher and educate your potential customers about your product offerings and their applicable uses. When writing your website content, pretend that every potential visitor will know very little about your offerings. Ensure that your content is as informative as possible. You will win over more leather consumers this way, trust me. Use this strategy whether you are selling a jacket, a pair of boots, a can of adhesive or a sheepskin. Once you convert that casual visitor into a customer, and you deliver on your orders, you’ll have gained a lifetime customer.

Now, if you’re thinking about selling say upholstery hides (or other finished hides) online, let me give you a piece of advice. Do so only with customers that have bought from you before or who have received one of your sample swatches. Why? Remember online customers are going by what is on your website; they don’t actually get to touch your upholstery leather or hide. As we all know, every hide is different and each carries its unique imperfections. So forget about trying to display the true representation of the colors or textures of hides on their monitors. With the many different monitors and graphic cards available it is an impossible task. A simple comment like &ndash “If ordering our XYZ upholstery hide for the first time, please request a sample cutting or swatch to confirm specifications before ordering.” If you make this offer; ensure you get the samples out! Potential first-time customers will appreciate the heads up and second-timers will be unfazed as they have bought the product from you before. The alternative is an unhappy customer, restocking fees, shipping fees and the loss of a potential lifetime customer.

In the next three articles, Frank will address three additional strategies that will not only help you keep your customers, but increase them as well. Learn how a $300 order can generate in excess of $120,000 of business.

Good Landing Page Design Tips

What is a landing page

That’s been a lot of talk about landing page these days. So, what’s a landing page? It’s the page your website visitor arrived at after clicking a link. The link could be on any page on your website or pay per click advertising or banner ads or keyword search.

The goal of landing page is to cause your visitors to take definite action. You don’t want your visitors to leave until you get them to do what you want them to do. To click on the buy button, to sign up for an affiliate program, to download a free ebook or software, to sign up for a course, or to subscribe to your free newsletter.

The landing page is a direct marketing copy. Your visitors landed here through a link on your webpage, an ad, a keyword search, pay per click advertising, banner ads, and now you want to convert them.

Here are some tips to design a good landing page…

1.Content Relevance

Your landing page content must be relevant to what people were looking for when they applied the click through. The closer the match is the higher the chances of conversion.

2.Be Concise

Net writing is different than offline writing. Generally, when people surf the Internet they give short attention span to what they are reading. So be concise. When visitors arrive at your landing page they are already predisposed to buy, or they want to get more information of your product or service.

By all means give them information but be concise. Don’t use more than three sentences to communicate a point. Think through and concise what you want to say. Use bulleted list to communicate the benefits of your product or service.

3.Get straight to the point

The landing page is a highly customized marketing copy for your product or service or affiliate product or service. Don’t distract your visitors with advertisements, links to other web pages. Don’t let your visitors wade through a whole bunch of hosh posh before they get to want they want.

4.Focus

Dedicate one landing page to only one product or service. Don’t try to promote multiple products (unless they are of the same product group)or services on one page. Create separate landing pages and campaigns if you have multiple products or services to promote. Focus on one product or one product group on each landing page.

5.Be Factual

Use facts and figures instead of generalities.

General: Prices Reduced

Factual: Prices Reduced by 20 percent

6.Clear Call to Action

Tell your visitors what you want them to do. Buy now, click here to download, fill in name and email address to subscribe or whatever. Keep all call to action text in bold.

7.Readable Text

Sure, there’s nothing much to look at a page with white background and black fonts. But it’s definitely easier to read the text than a red

background with black fonts. Remember, it’s the words that sell. Your website visitors must be able to read your text with ease.

8.Navigation Links

Not at all, if you could help it. The only link you want your website visitors to click on your landing page is the call to action link.

9.Graphics and Images

Keep visual effects to a minimum unless you are running an online audio or video business, real estate business, or selling holiday destinations. Keep in mind that for direct marketing it’s the words that sell. Graphics and images serve only to enhance your text communication, not cloud it.

10.Grammatical and Spelling Errors

Check through your text and correct all grammatical and spelling errors. Otherwise it gives your website visitors a negative impression of you and the company you represent. Once visitors have a negative impression, it becomes difficult to convince them of the product or service that you are promoting. First impression counts a lot.

11.Make it personal

Make it personal to connect with your visitors. Use a lot of You and Your in your text.

12.Make your text clear and simple to understand

Avoid colloquialism or jargons. Use terms and phrases that people readily understood. Use short sentences, and phrase them in the active voice.

A good landing page will always sport good conversion rate as compared to a poor one. Take the time to think and rethink, work and rework your landing pages. Don’t make the mistake of just optimizing for the search engines. You need to optimize your landing pages for humans too. Ultimately, it is humans that give you the sales.

Have You Ever Wondered How The Experienced Internet Marketers Generate Loads Of Traffic?

Here’s a two pronged approach to getting the traffic you need and find out exactly what your customers want.

Why not Combine Surveys and Polls With Pay per click. I’m sure you already know that surveys are a great way to finding out what your target market wants. But if combined with low cost, quick and easy to use Google Pay Per Click, surveys can also send lots of hungry customers to your site every month.

First of all you’ll need to do some keyword research. You’ll need to find keywords and keyphrases that relate to your survey topic but also don’t have too many Google Adword campaigns running. You can do this very quickly with a tool like Jeff Alderson’s Adword Analyzer, which will show you exactly how many Google campaigns are running for various keywords at any given time.

Second, sign up for an inexpensive survey service like Survey Monkey. I won’t recommend free survey services, for they tend to limit the number of participants, and well the whole point is to get as many people as possible to take your survey.

The next step is to design a survey that will appeal to your target market.

Next, come up with an incentive for people to take your survey.

Make it a download, so you can capture the prospect’s email address. And make it viral. Even a simple white paper can be viral. You don’t necessarily have to cram it with affiliate links. Just make sure your URL is visibly listed on every page.

Now put up a simple web page that introduces people to the survey topic, offers the incentive, asks for an email address where you can send the download link and the survey results, and links to the survey.

Finally, use at least a dozen of the keywords you researched earlier to set up Google Adwords campaigns advertising your survey.

Make sure the ad uses your keyword, and that it mentions the incentive. “Take this Cooking survey, get a free recipe E-book.”

You don’t have to be the #1 ad.

You can even be on the second or third page.

The point is to capture a targeted prospect’s contact information for a very small investment.

But there are also some additional serious benefits in addition to all the traffic you’ll gain.

First, you’ll collect valuable information on what your prospects are looking for.

Second, you’ll have their permission to contact them with the survey results and the download link for the thank you gift.

And third, if you make that free gift a viral report, you’ll eventually get more targeted traffic. Nice!

You can do a variation of this with a simple one question poll.

Everything else is the same, except you’ll want to come up with an intriguing question for the poll – something that will attract people’s curiosity about the results and get them coming back for more.

I hope you enjoyed this Article and have gained some valuable information from it.

Good luck with the future.

Regards.

Ryan Blake.

Have A Banner Day – Three Reasons Why Banner Ads Pay Off With Increase Website Activity

The idea of using a banner ad for your website is a good one. The real money is in ads on the Internet. If you are unsure about the real benefits of using banner ads, take some time to read more about what banner ads actually are and how to use them so you can make some real profits with your site.

Banner ads are nothing more than simplified HTML code with a link embedded in the code. Banner ads come in all different sizes. Some are as large a 486×60 and some are as small as the tiny size of 88×31. The graphics combined with the text information is what makes banners ads shine. Clicking on it will bring a potential customer right to your site, and then you have a chance to make a sell. Having a well laid out website and clearly written instructions is the next key to selling. Even if your advertising efforts don’t pay off immediately &ndash don’t despair. If your ad is intense enough graphically and texturally, it will leave them with a memory of it, and they are likely will return and purchase your product.

How do you get a banner ad placed on the Internet? First, you need to understand that it does cost you money in most instances to place a banner ad. You can pay a company to post it or arrange to have it posted on an independent website. Other advertisers such as you will evaluate if your banner ad will be successful at their site. They look at page views and how many hits your website receives per month. They might also evaluate click through rates as well, depending on if you have a pay per click program. They will take into consideration how much it is going to cost them too. Remember they have to pay for bandwidth, and if does not benefit them economically, they might not add your banner. You’ll have to post at a 2 to 1 ratio. In other words, you will have to place two of their banners in exchange for them posting one of yours. You can also start your own affiliate program, which has minor click through cost.

Now that you know a little more about banner ads, you need to realize their importance for your website.

By posting banner ads, you will rise up in the search engine rankings. Your product, with enough ads and strategic placement, will silently push your page up in the engine ranking. You will get more visitors and more exposure, thus increasing your chances of selling a product.

After exchanging banners with a few quality sites, more sites will want to exchange or let you buy advertising space with them. It will definitely increase your website visitors and increase profits at the same time.

Using banner ads as advertising space helps you get more visitors to your website.

These three ideas are primary for increasing website site traffic. You will need to be aware of some general rules of thumb though. Make sure that you have the patience to let your banner ads work their magic. Whether you are saving up to pay a banner ad company to post your banners or if you are trying to sell advertising space at your own website for banner ads, it will take time. You will need extra patience if you are contacting independent site owners and asking for their approval to exchange banners. Always join quality sites that are well ranked and have a relevance to your site content.

There are some drawbacks to using a banner ad to get more website activity. You could end up with so many ads that your site will be a maze that a lot of visitors will just click away from. And, there may be some objectionable ads of an adult nature that you will have to live with. Consider that you will need to have some capitol to create your banners, and that cost varies according to size and complexity of the design. You will need to update and continually post new banner ads as other ads change or they are no longer relevant to your content material. Overall, make sure your site design and budget can withstand banner ad usage.

In the end, you will find that banner ads are worth the work and effort. They have in the past raised website visitations through people looking for products or information online. By working at it, you will find that your profits will increase. In the end that’s the name of the game.

Have you ever heard of an ebook?

Dear Friend,

After browsing the internet, I came across an interesting article that grabbed my attention. The main concept was discussing how you can personally sell information on the internet. One of the fascinating ways of sharing and selling information is by an e-book. First of all, have you ever heard of an e-book? If your answer is no, well don’t feel bad because I too didn’t know what an e-book was before reading the article. An e-book is just like any other hard or soft covered book except it is completely digital. This is attracting and convienent for computer lovers for the obvious reason that they are able to read it on their computer. There are many advantages of learning how an e-book works. An obvious reason is knowing that you as a seller are able to profit and see results faster than if you were to publish a traditional book. For example, you can publish an e-book in a couple of hours or at most by a few days in comparison to a traditional book which obviously takes longer time. You can also satisfy your customers; because you don’t have to worry about shipping the book to the customer rather they can download their book and be instantly satisfied. You save tons of money by avoiding time, postage, printing cost, and packaging materials. Another great feature of an e-book is that it is completely versatile. You can create anything you want! An e-book is just one of many ways of selling information via internet. The internet has after all taken over the majority of businesses, ways of communicating, sharing information, and most importantly making big bucks! Now if you’re like me and enjoy learning cool techniques to benefit you and your future and on top of that you can learn this on the internet well then I know you’ll take advantage of this grand opportunity.

Guidelines in Buying in Online Classifieds

Check the website

Take to consider the website’s reputation in finding a good online classified. Check the website if many people use this website as a way to buy and sell their products. Good basis would be: they can publish new advertisements everyday, they are information rich website, they can publish images of the product, the website has a high page rank, has a forum, etc.

Item seller

Look for some testimonial that a person has a good reputation. It can also help you to have a background of the person that will sell the product. Try to gather some information about the item seller to see whether if he or she is a scammer or not.

Look for the quality of the items

Gather information for the product that you want to buy. Learn to ask from others’ opinion and weigh it, so you will not regret later on. Gather information about the product by asking the item seller if it has a scratch, damage and defect.

Check the item price

Don’t forget to make a canvass if the price is too high or not. Check other websites to determine if the product is worth your money. Please be aware of hidden charges. Make sure you do not overpay.

How old the product is

It is better to know what is new and what is old. Make sure that the product is durable. Also you must be able to distinguish if the package has been repacked or repaired. Maybe if it is too old, it will easily get broken.

Ask for a warranty

A personal warranty is a good thing to have. But it all depends on the seller if he or she gives a warranty. Try to settle a return agreement or a new item replacement if you have any problem with the product. If possible, ask for a money back guarantee.

Transaction

Make things clear between both of you, especially when regarding transactions. If it is to be delivered, don’t approve to deliver it in your house without you receiving it. Make sure you have the time to accept the package yourself. This allows you check the quality of the product. Check the quality by carefully looking at all the aspects of the product like parts, damages etc. Make sure that you buy an authentic item and not a fake one. If you don’t like their service, let them know what the problem is. These will help them enhance their service.

If you both agreed to meet at a certain place, the item seller usually is the one who goes to the buyer’s place. If both of you will meet at a certain place, be sure that you will able to test the product before you buy it, by this you will able to know if it is defective or not.

It is a great idea if you are accompanied by a knowledgeable person.

Grab Your Readers by The Eyeball With Your Subject

The race for supremacy in the internet based businesses has been really heating up and many sites have been put up to help others to get ahead for a small fee. But there are also ways in which you don’t have to pay so much to make yourself a good list of loyal followers. Having a satisfied web traffic and visitors allows you to put up a foundation wherein you can build an opt-in list and make it grow from there.

An opt-in list allows you to provide newsletters to your subscribers with their consent. When people sign up, they know that they will be receiving updates and news from your site and the industry your represent via an e-mail. But that doesn’t mean that all of those who subscribe read them at all. Many lists have been built due to an attachment with free software or for a promotional discount and such. Some are not really interested in receiving e-mails from companies and just treat them as waste of cyberspace and delete or trash them without so mush as opening the e-mail and scanning them.

You can change all that. While forwarding an email message is relatively after producing your newsletter. Getting people to open them is not as easy. You don’t want to waste all the time and effort used in making the newsletters, you want people to read them and have their interests piqued. Interested enough to go to your website and look around and most especially purchased and acquire your products or services.

One of the numerous ways you can tempt or persuade your subscriber is by providing a well thought out and well written subject. The subject of an email is what is often referred to when a person or a recipient of an email decides whether he or she wants to open or read an e-mail. The subject could easily be regarded as one of the most important aspect of your promotional e-mail.

Your subject must be short and concise. They should provide a summary for the content of the e-mail so that the recipient will have basic knowledge of the content. This is really vital in grabbing the attention of your readers and subscribers. You want your subject to instantly grab the attention of your subscriber and get them to be intrigued to open up your mail. Remember, it is not necessarily true that a subscriber opens up subscribed mails.

A good subject must always be tickling the curiosity of your recipient. It must literally force the recipient to open the mail. A certain emotion must be ignited and get them to open the mail. It is essential to use specific words to get the reaction you need. Keep in mind that the recipient or subscribers spends only a few seconds looking over each subject of the e-mails he receives. You must grab your reader’s attention right away.

There are many forms you can use for your subject. You can provide a subject that says your e-mail contains content that teaches them tips and methods on certain topics. An example of this is using keywords and keyword phrases such as, “How to” , “tips”, “Guides to”, Methods in and others like that.

You can also put your subject in a question form. These may include questions like, “Are you sick and tired of your job?” Or “Is your boss always on your case?” Try to stay on the topic that pertains to your site so that you’ll know that your subscribers have signed up because they are interested in that topic. This form of subject is very effective because they reach out to your recipients emotions. When they have read the question on your subject, their mind starts answering the question already.

You can also use a subject that commands your reader. Statements such as “Act now and get this once in a lifetime opportunity”, or “Double, triple and even quadruple what you are earning in one year”. This type of subject deals with the benefits your company provides with your product and services.

You may also use breaking news as your subject to intrigue your subscriber. For example, if you deal with car engine parts you can write in your subject, “Announcing the new engine that uses no gasoline, It runs on water”. This creates curiosity with the reader and will lead them to open the mail and read on.

Great Ways to Promote Your Business Using Internet Marketing

In the online world, there are tons of different ways that you can go about promoting your own business. It’s very important that you understand Internet marketing, or your online business will never make it. That is because people have to know that you are selling something before they can buy from you. There are tons of different online stores out there that are more than likely selling the same thing that you are selling. So what is the one thing that is going to make them choose your store over a different store? That is how well you market your online business. You have to get the name of your business out there, and you have to get it out there as much as you can. The more you can do that, the better chance you have of running a successful business.

The first and best way to get your name out there is to get it notice by Search Engine sites like Yahoo! or Google. These are sites that even have programs where you can add your business to different websites that are related to your product. This is called Google AdWords. They will help you place online ads all over the Internet. This is a great way to start out when trying to get your business noticed. Although this is a great way to start out, it’s not going to be the only thing that you need to do. After you get your online business noticed, you need to find other ways to market it. One great way is to visit online forums and have your business name and link in your posts. This can be easy to do by attaching it to the bottom of every post. However, for this to work, whatever site you join has to be related to what you are selling.

The next thing you need to do is look around at a whole bunch of social marketing sites. These are some of the biggest sites on the Internet to date. Some of these sites include places like MySpace, Yuwie, and of course myLot. These are places where you are going to want to place ads if you can. Talk to these sites about how you would go about getting ads placed on their site. Millions of people use these sites every day, and because of that, they are the prime area to place an ad. You will notice that your site’s hit counter is going to go through the roof after placing ads at these places.

Last, but not least, you need to keep up with what the stats are doing on your webpage. Make sure that you are getting quality leads to your site. This can be done by checking around and getting stat counters for your webpage. When you are talking about stat counters, you are talking about more than just Hit counters. Those are helpful, but you are going to need counters that are going to see how many people are coming to your site, how long they are staying, if they are buying anything, and what links they are clicking on.
