Internet Marketing from Florida.

April 30, 2008 - 7:46 am

Internet Marketing from Florida wouldn’t be strange if you live in Florida. I however live in Colorado.

I am sitting in Celebration Florida while I’m writing this post. I have been here since Tuesday and today is Sunday. I have been attending an Internet Marketing - Blogging Boot Camp.

This has been a fun week. I flew out here with my life long friend Jeff. Our mothers took turns driving us to pre school when we were kids and now in our 40’s we are still neighbors and friends.

Jeff is a farmer and doesn’t get into Internet Marketing. He came out here with me for a little vacation before he gets back to those long days of farming for the Colorado spring and summer.

We arrived Tuesday evening and checked out parts of Orlando Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday night was the first meeting for the Internet Marketing boot camp.

Since then I have spent about 30 hours in meetings and working on my new blogging method. I learned about this new method from my new friend Mike back in December.

I started a blog about one of my passions in life. The blog is about Billiards. After following Mikes advice for about a month, I had over 10,000 visitors to my blog in January 2008.

I know this is not a ton of traffic. It is a significant amount however for a blog that is only 30 days old. This boot camp is building on the things which I have already learned from Mikes training.

If you would like to learn about this method, follow the link below.

Read about Mikes blogging method Here.

To Your success,

Internet Marketing for Small Home-based Businesses

April 28, 2008 - 12:09 pm

Small home-based businesses battle to stay on search engine listings and gain the advertising and marketing exposure they deserve. Small home-based business owners typically don’t have the money for expensive advertising and marketing. It is for this reason that popular big name companies seem to have taken over the online market by advertising on television, in magazines, and at the top of almost every search engine listing. Small home-based businesses should not be discouraged. It is possible for small home-based internet businesses to move up the ladder of success through effective and creative internet marketing. Small home-based internet businesses are able to gain the exposure they deserve, but they must use strategies other than standard marketing and advertising methods used by big name companies.

Small home-based businesses striving for marketing and advertising success need to grab the attention of potential customers. After grabbing the attention of potential customers, it’s critical to keep their attention. Home-based business owners should consider offering potential customers and those looking for information on the internet the high-quality information they are looking for through opt-in newsletters.

Small home-based business owners can bring in new customers and keep customers coming back by giving them the information or news they’re seeking online. For example, if a small home-based internet business sells craft items, the home-based business owner can offer valuable free information on craft projects. Those seeking craft project ideas and instructions through a craft project newsletter will find links to materials and supplies. Marketing small home-based businesses through newsletters can greatly increase earnings.

The owner of a small home-based internet business doesn’t have to be a great writer to develop an internet newsletter full of valuable information. There are a number of helpful internet programs to assist owners of small home-based businesses with developing and marketing products and newsletters. Offer people the information they are seeking, and they will sign up to receive the information. Before long, newsletter marketing efforts will pay off through

ever increasing sales.

Home-based small business owners who don’t have time for newsletters should consider joining one of the many popular link exchange programs. Marketing small home-based businesses becomes effortless, and home-based businesses literally begin marketing themselves. Link exchange members assist each other with marketing, and they help increase website traffic. Potential customers gain access to small business websites they otherwise wouldn’t have found.

Marketing efforts can be increased by directly exchanging links with other business websites. Small home-based businesses can offer their banners and links in exchange for banner and links from other small business websites. There is no cost for this type of marketing, and small home-based business websites can increase traffic and sales considerably. Choose link exchange partners wisely to gain the most marketing benefits and exposure for your small home-based internet business.

Internet Marketing For Sales Leads

April 26, 2008 - 1:47 pm

NO matter what business you are trying to build online, you will need sales leads if you are ever going to make sales, and sales leads are what you are trying to generate if you are marketing on the internet. In order to survive, any web site needs a steady flow of qualified leads.

The aim of any lead generation campaign is to build your mailing list. Internet marketers often say “the money is in the list”, which is totally true. A list of responsive buying customers that trust you is worth its weight in gold!

While spam filtering has lessened the impact of email marketing, it’s still a viable means to getting your sales messages out there. In theory, email is marketing is free, although of course its costs you in terms of your time. The theory behind email marketing is that by using a “hook” such as a free product or some other incentive, you can “funnel” interested parties onto specific products and services.

When you consider generating leads via an email campaign there are basically three avenues you can explore: email signatures, joint ventures and safe lists. One word of warning though, and that is avoid spam at all cost, one spam complaint can seriously damage your online business. You should familiarize yourself with the laws concerning spam, and at the very least ensure you include a un-subscription link in ALL your marketing emails. Due to spam, it is advisable that you avoid buying leads, no matter how reputable the company, buying leads can easily lead to a spam complaint, you have been warned!

In its simplest form, email marketing is a matter of putting a signature in all your emails that contains a link to your main product.

If you are looking to vastly increase your list quickly then a joint venture (JV) may well be the key you need. In its simplest form, in a JV you supply the product and a fellow marketer supplies the leads and you share the profits. Hopefully, you will then get the emails of your fellow marketer’s customers, so you can then mail them with further offers.

When considering a joint venture there are many considerations you have to think about, but the main one, before you consider contacting anyone about mailing to their list, is “what’s in it for THEM”, not “what’s in it for me”. NEVER write to a fellow marketer unless you can offer them something of value in return for their help, and that is not necessarily just a share of the profits, be inventive!

Finally you have safe lists. A safe list is a list of people that have agreed to receive marketing emails in return for being able to send their own marketing email. The value of this form of marketing has never been that good. After all you are trying to sell to people who are only interested in selling to you!

You can use pay per click advertising such as overture or Goggle adwords to advertise your site and draw in interested leads.

One other highly effective way of generating interested leads is posting in forums that are related to your area of business. Include a link to your site in your signature and people interested in your sphere of business will often click it if your forum post was interesting.

Three other popular sales lead generation techniques are submitting articles to ezine publishers and article directories, press releases and testimonials for products in your target market.

No matter what lead generation technique you employ you will need a way to capture your leads email address when they arrive at your site.

The traditional method has been to use a pop up or pop under which contains some incentive to get someone to sign up. With the invention of pop up stoppers their effectiveness has dwindled and therefore unstoppable pop ups (also know as hover ads or slide in ads) have evolved. This new generation of pop ups are built into your webpage and as such cannot be stopped. Simply do a search on Goggle for “unstoppable pop up” and you are sure to find a software solution to produce these types of pop ups for you.

The other alternative is to use what is called a “name squeeze page”.

In essence a name squeeze page is a web page whose sole purpose is to capture an email address.

They generally contain a small amount of information about the product or service you are selling as a “teaser” for the reader and will contain a sign up form, with a message like “to find out more simply fill in the form to be immediately directed to further details on this amazing product”.

A name squeeze page not only helps build your list, this information can also be used with certain software to help personalize your site for your visitor, a technique that has been shown to increase sales. Again, simply do a search for name squeeze page generators.

No matter how you generate sales leads there is one thing always to bear in mind, and that is to be effective your leads must be in your targeted market. If, for example, you are selling internet marketing products, then it’s no use advertising on a site that is all about scuba diving!

When you start to build your online business, ensure you include a well thought out sales lead generation strategy from the beginning. Do not make it an afterthought; this should be in place from the very beginning if you want your business to be a success.

Internet Marketing for Loan Officers

April 25, 2008 - 9:38 am

If you are a loan officer or mortgage broker looking to keep your name, and your products and services in the face of the public, you may want to consider internet marketing.

You may be thinking to yourself that you are not savvy enough with a computer in order to market via the internet.

Well, these days you don’t have to be, thanks to blogs.

One of the best ways to market yourself and your products is with your own personal blog.

Trust me, it is easier than you think.

Anyone can set up a blog in no more than five minutes and it is absolutely free. It is only a matter of finding a blog provider, which can be done very easily with a google search.

Once you have set up your blog, including domain name and template which the blogger will help you out with, you will be good to go.

On the blog, you can post a biography of yourself, as well as your picture, and the products and services you have to offer.

Now, you can add your blog address to your business card, and tell people in face to face networking to visit your blog.

Blogs are also great for long distance loan customers that you work with. By telling them to visit your blog, they can see your picture and will be able to put a face with your name. This is a great way for them to find a comfort level with you.

By using the internet as a marketing tool, you have added a great weapon to your arsenal of marketing strategies. Best of luck.

Internet Marketing for Business Men and Women

April 23, 2008 - 5:18 pm

I’ve been speaking to a lot of very successful business people of late, and I am just overwhelmed at how excited they all are to be learning about internet marketing.

It’s exciting to see the surge of business men and women actively seeking help with the internet marketing of their websites.

You see, up until a year or so ago, getting your site live and in the search engines was key. So, people threw up a site, and let it run on its own. The sites were pretty much designed to be extensions of your business card, providing visitors with product and contact information.

Ah, but the rules of the game have changed, my friend. Now it’s become a dog-click-dog world, and the internet marketing of your site on- and off-page is what makes the difference between a productive and a non-productive site.

So, first, I’d like you to take a quick look at your web site. Go ahead, open up a new browser and check it out as a fresh visitor seeing it for the first time.

• Is it easy to navigate? Is it logical, or do visitors just kind of meander around in your site like a lost child in the grocery store?

• Is there a goal to your site? Is there a place where you ultimately want to funnel your visitors? Is it to a contact page where they submit their email address and questions or comments to you?

• Ask yourself, what do you really want these people to do when they get to your site? Click around and then fall so deeply in love with your site that they drop everything and run, not walk, to your store’s location with open arms and wallets?

• And, what do you have there for people that aren’t local? Do you have anything that you can offer them?

• If someone doesn’t end up buying your product or service on your web site, do you have other ways for them to help you earn some money from their visit?

Okay, well, it seems that we have a little work to do on your internet marketing!

The most important thing to remember is that your web site is more than just an electronic advertisement. It has a purpose, and don’t forget that! Now, we just need to convince your visitors that you do have a reason for getting them to land on your site!

Examine the ultimate purpose of your visitor…could it be to purchase something? That’s always a good purpose! But, do you give them a “slippery slope” of compelling content that leads them right to your purchase page? Believe it or not, it will take you a little bit of time mapping out your site’s content and pages that take their hand and carry them right to your purchase page. Try it right now!

There is a lot to learn for those courageous business men and women who want to learn more about internet marketing.

Rest assured, you’ve found a resource that will not only help you with the internet marketing of your current web site, but also with helping you develop a very strong strategy to help make your site extremely profitable.

Internet Marketing Consultant

April 22, 2008 - 10:07 pm

Wow. Internet Marketing Consultant. What a thought.

If you have been working on making some money on the Internet for any amount of time now, you probably can see the value of a consultant. The big thing you see going around now is that everyone should have a mentor.

This is a cool idea and a mentor can definitely accelerate your success, but the price tag for a good mentor is most often several thousand dollars. This leaves many people out. Several thousand dollars can be tough when you are just starting out trying to build a business.

I will not sit here and tell you that you can build a business and get rich without spending any money. If i did it would be called a misleading lie. I can tell you that finding a good Internet Marketing Consultant can save you time and money.

The only way that money is made off line or on line is through business. I don’t care if you clean houses for a living. It is a business. Even if you work for someone else, say driving a trash truck, there is still a business involved.

People search for ways to make money on the Internet because they want to work for themselves or work from home. Working for yourself is cool. I know because I have worked for myself for over 20 years. This would not be possible if I had not set up my business.

To the best of my knowledge it is not free to start any type of business. Some are more expensive than others. I currently have a business in the food industry. We didn’t have much money when we started. We rented a kitchen in a local tavern and had the business off the ground for around $500.00.

This business is on track to do around a million dollars this year and we are paying out around $12,000.00 per week in operating costs (over head). Believe me when I tell you that we did not have this exact business in mind when we started. We took the leap, started the business and it has evolved into something totally cool.

My recommendation to you is that if you are just getting started in your search, take the short cut and find yourself an Internet Marketing Consultant that you can trust and afford.

You can drop me a line if you need some recommendations in this area.

To Your Success,

Internet Marketing And Promotion Made Very Easy.

April 21, 2008 - 5:54 pm

Just like there are no magic weight loss cures or ways to earn money from home without a great deal of effort, there is no one simple solution to guarantee Internet marketing success. However, Internet marketing is not overly complicated and many business owners can enjoy at least some degree of Internet marketing success, and income, with only limited knowledge about the industry. This article will discuss some of the simplest Internet marketing strategies business owners can implement to promote their business online.

Participation in industry or niche related message boards is one of the easiest, and quickest, ways a business owner can use the Internet as a promotional tool. Message boards are websites which provide a forum for Internet users who share a common interest, to share information related to their subject or to just socialize. Business owners may decide to join message boards which closely relate to their niche or the products or services they offer. This is important because doing this gives the business owners access to a group of Internet users that fall into the target audience for their products or services. It also gives the business owner the opportunity to promote his own website. Most message boards allow registered users to place a link to their own website in their e-signature. Business owners who do this and also contribute useful commentary on the message boards may attract potential customers via the link they place in their e-signature.

Additionally, some message boards may even allow users to post links in the body of the message. This gives the business owner the opportunity to offer his link in response to questions and comments when doing so is relevant and offers something of value to the online conversation. However, care should be taken to carefully review the terms of service and all guidelines on the message board before posting links to ensure this is not a violation of the policies of the message board. Failure to adhere to message board policies may result in removal from the message board or the posts being viewed as spam by other users.

Another simple, but effective, Internet marketing strategy is to hire a consulting firm with search engine optimization (SEO) experience to assist you in achieving high search engine rankings. While the concept of SEO can be rather complex and understanding the most effective strategies and how to properly implement them may take years of experience as well as continual education, the ability to hire a qualified SEO firm is as simple as knowing how to interview candidates and select the most qualified one. Handling your own SEO efforts can be rather difficult but hiring another firm to take care of this for you is not only easy but it can have a significant impact on your website traffic because high search engine rankings typically translate to improved web traffic. This is because Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant websites first and typically only visit the best ranking websites when they search for a particular term.

Similarly another simple way to enjoy Internet marketing success is to hire a consulting firm to plan and execute your Internet marketing strategy. Just like SEO, Internet marketing is essentially a full time job. Business owners may have a great deal of difficulty trying to run their business and organize their Internet marketing. Outsourcing this work eases the burden on the business owner or manager and will likely produce more favorable and consistant results.

Internet Marketing and the Psychology of Color

April 21, 2008 - 1:09 pm

I briefly touched on this subject in a previous e-book titled “The Forgotten Fundamentals of SEO” and I have been asked by a few people to expand and explain more about the psychology of color and how it affects what you should be for your website from a marketing perspective.

The internet is the ultimate visual and psychological medium. It provides businesses with an unparalleled avenue to reach potential customers. In this visually engrossing world it is the copy, or words, on your website that have the greatest psychological impact on visitors and given this they become your most important communication and sales tool.

Another important psychological aspect of your website is the often over looked and definitely misunderstood marketing strategy of colors. The same as we use words and phrases to describe and express our intentions color can be used to convey similar messages in more subtle and concealed ways. As an example of a color being used to convey a feeling, when I was at University they painted the walls in the library a light pastel-pink color to try and enhance the studying environment. Did it work? I really don’t know, I was in the computer lab, but I am guessing that subliminally there was probably some impact whether it be physically measurable or not.

In the past choosing color schemes for websites used to be left up to the programmer who was responsible for just getting something up and running. Often there was no forethought or planning for real graphic design or image perception. “A simple site, nothing fancy”. I am fairly certain that every web developer has been asked for something like this, I know I have. If you really want to succeed in 2007+ then this kind of website will just not work.

Given the competitive nature of the Internet market, there has been a steady influx of Internet marketing professionals who are looking to stamp their mark on the ever increasingly competitive keyword monopoly game. Every day there businesses employ Internet marketing agencies to employ their expert marketing strategies to their business. Often these are for huge fees. One area that I see getting missed during these expensive website makeovers is the psychology of color. I believe it is important to address this marketing issue in design and ensure it the colors chosen are enhancing and supporting the overall theme and feel of the website in an effort to get the website visitor to perform the action we actually want them to do on our website; be it contact us on email, buy a product or feel comfortable browsing our articles and reading the news.

So what colors should we be incorporating into our website designs to ensure we convey the right message to our visitors? I have detailed a list of colors and their associated feelings and keywords so you can get an idea or what to put on your webpages.

RED is associated with love, passion, danger, warning, excitement, food, impulse, action, adventure.

BLUE is associated with trustworthiness, success, seriousness, calmness, power, professionalism.

GREEN is associated with money, nature, animals, health, healing, life, harmony.

ORANGE is associated with comfort, creativity, celebration, fun, youth, affordability.

PURPLE is associated with royalty, justice, ambiguity, uncertainty, luxury, fantasy, dreams.

WHITE is associated with innocence, purity, cleanliness, simplicity.

YELLOW is associated with curiosity, playfulness, cheerfulness, amusement.

PINK is associated with softness, sweetness, innocence, youthfulness, tenderness.

BROWN is associated with earth, nature, tribal, primitive, simplicity.

GREY is associated with neutralality, indifference, reserved.

BLACK is associated with seriousness, darkness, mystery, secrecy.

When choosing colors for your site it is important to employ contrasting or sympathetic and complementary color schemes. It is important to identify your market and ensure the psychological message you are trying to get across with the rest of your site design, words and images is complemented and enhanced by the appropriate color scheme. Often it can be wise to run samples of the same site with slightly differing colour schemes past a test audience and see which has the best impact or you can even run differing coloured sites to visitors and track conversions to your goals. Its really up to you how to try and test or track the impact of your psychological color message on your Internet Marketing.

Internet Marketing and Getting Your Site Noticed

April 20, 2008 - 6:52 pm

You may have created and established the best Web site in the world, however if the world does not know it is there, it will not do your business any good. As a result, knowing how to market your site and getting your site noticed is incredibly important to the success of your business and something you will want to concentrate your efforts on. Fortunately, getting your site noticed is not expensive so marketing on a tight budget does not mean you can’t get quality exposure.

One of the first things you will want to do is pack your Web page full of keywords that people might use when searching for information contained in your site. The more keywords you have, or keyword phrases someone might use, the more often your site will be returned as a result for the person searching. You want to be in the top 5 results posted as often as possible, so being diligent about keywords and keyword phrases will help direct more traffic to your web site.

Also, once you have packed your page full of useful information and as many keywords as you and your thesaurus can think of, you will want to upload your URL to various search engines like Yahoo, Google, Excite, Alta Vista, and any specialized search engines that focus on your particular business or service. By including more keywords on your web site, when the search engines are searching for sites pertaining to the keywords entered in the search engine, your page will be listed as a higher result than others. This is very important because people generally check the first few web sites results and skip the others if they find the information they were looking. However, make sure the information you provide on your site is useful and you don’t just have a string of keywords to attract people to your page. If you have useful information about a product or service, people will look around. If all you have is a bunch of keywords and nothing that actually pertains to what the individual is looking for, they will leave and never come back. So, be alert to what you are offering potential customers and attentive to the way you bring them to your page.

If you have done all of the above, and are still interested in more traffic, then consider marketing your site on other related or non related sites by banners and the like. This is a way of letting individuals know about your product that might not be aware of it to even search for it. By advertising in this way you are reaching a sector of individuals who want and need your product, but were never aware of it.

There are multiple ways to market and of getting your web site noticed, just make sure you do it in a responsible way. Internet users are fed up with pop up ads, Spam e-mail and other unsolicited information. For instance, many people now have programs that block pop up ads, which means you are not even marketing. Finally, you don’t want to anger potential customers or have them close off their mind to your product, so be creative when you are marketing, aggressive and always respectful of current and future clients.

Internet Marketing and Advertising Ideas

April 20, 2008 - 7:38 am

Website owners wanting good ideas for marketing and advertising are always seeking new and ingenious advertising and marketing methods. Of course, all business website owners want their ideas and efforts to bring in more internet traffic and increased revenue. Unfortunately, online advertising and marketing methods can be quite costly, but there are marketing and advertising ideas and techniques that don’t cost a small fortune. There are great marketing strategies and ideas that can bring in a sizeable amount of website traffic and revenue.

E-zines are a popular method of marketing and advertising websites because e-zine publishers have control over links and banner ads within their e-zines. Publishing an e-zine can be very beneficial for online business owners. Even if a website owner isn’t a skilled writer, with a little help they can still publish an e-zine for online marketing and advertising purposes.

Unbeknownst to some, there are websites that offer free and low-cost content for those wanting to publish an e-zine. Besides the many free content websites, there are many e-zine publishers that trade content with writers who also want to take advantage of free marketing and advertising methods. Contributing writers submit original articles and include links to their business websites in exchange for the content they are submitting. This is a marketing method that benefits all concerned. The original e-zine publisher receives free content, and article contributors receive free marketing and advertising for their business websites. Writers without business websites often sell their work directly to websites that buy articles and sell articles to those seeking website and e-zine content.

Blogging is the latest internet craze amongst online business owners looking for fresh marketing and advertising ideas. It certainly doesn’t take a professional writer to create a blog. An internet business owner can create a blog and submit content to that blog on a daily basis. If information is full of valuable keywords and phrases, many search engines will pick up that information. People searching for particular keywords and phrases will likely stumble upon the information. Include links to a business website along with related information people are seeking, and the business could receive a great increase in internet traffic and revenue. Advertising using daily blogs are simple low-cost marketing methods, and these marketing methods have proven effective for a great number of online business owners.

Internet business owners seeking marketing ideas and advertising methods are often willing to exchange links with other online business owners. This can be accomplished through link exchange programs or by directly contacting internet business owners. Those looking for free online marketing and advertising methods and ideas can create partnerships with many online business owners and greatly increase their traffic and revenue.
