The Killer Squeeze Page Strategies

January 27, 2009 - 12:25 pm

In the world of Internet Marketing, the subscriber / email list is considered the most important part of the business and even more important than the sales itself. As a result, marketers dedicate a large amount of time and money to collect a “list” of highly targeted subscribers.

Building a highly targeted subscriber list is probably the most profitable thing you can do on the internet. A highly targeted list of email subscriber allows the owner to market either his products and service or other people’s products with a fairly high guarantee of success. However, with the proliferation of spam, consumers are very careful about giving out their email addresses.

The best way to get people on to subscribe to your list in the first place is to build a squeeze page (also called a landing page). A squeeze page is a simple page that had a headline, some text and allows visitors to register their name and email address in the field provided. Squeeze page also could be used as a tool to ease consumer concerns, experienced online businesses create “Squeeze Pages” that detail what the subscriber will be receiving and the businesses privacy standards.

A Squeeze page is not purely a web page that provides a capture form. A squeeze page’s main purpose is to generate leads where the major purpose of the page or site captures a name and email address. Squeeze page is created to draw the focus and attention of the visitor to applying action to one thing, opt in to your list for more information. As a general rule, Internet Marketers try to keep the content on their Squeeze Pages to a minimum. Usually no links to other pages as additional information could distract the user or cause them to navigate away to a different website.

The headline in your squeeze page is the most important part for it is the first contact point with your website’s visitors. This is where you must captivate them with an attention grabbing headline which will compel them to continue reading your text. Your headline must be clear of what you are presenting and your copy must connect with your visitors on an emotional level.

A successful squeeze pages have been known to have conversion rates of 30-60% and some even higher. The conversion rates mentioned here are the percentages of visitors that choose to opt-in to a mailing list by filling in the form fields available.

Squeeze page is often used in conjunction with an email autoresponder to begin delivering information as soon as the visitor confirms their email address. The autoresponder may be utilized to send a series of follow up emails or to provide an immediate download link to get information.

Promising information upon completion of confirming their email address has proven to be an effective method of increasing opt-ins using Squeeze Pages. So for example, if your mailing list targets basketball you can offer basketball ebook / manual for free. Once your subscribers joined your email list, you need to mail responsibly otherwise you will lose subscribers as they opt out of your mailing list when you send irrelevant contents.

Enjoy and Profits!

Secrets To Affiliate Marketing List Building

November 27, 2008 - 8:52 pm

The Money is in the List?

I am sure that you have heard this before. If you are involved with Internet marketing, you have probably heard it over and over again. But, Is it True?

Absolutely!!

I am involved with affiliate marketing and the great thing is that you do not need a product to begin making money. There are thousands of viable products available that you can make a great income on.

Whatever your interest or your niche is, there are plenty of products waiting for you to make money with. There is also plenty of room for you to create and promote your own product. Provided of course that it is a good one.

As for affiliate programs, they are very simple to get started with. You just need to sign up for their affiliate program, promote it, and watch the money start rolling in (hopefully). This is all great, but then what? Most likely you would find another product and start all over again.

What if, when you find or create this new product, you already have hundreds or thousands of people to instantly tell about it? You can shoot them a quick email and have immediate money in your pocket. Then you can start advertising this product and create even more people for your next great idea. As you can imagine, this process can take on a snowball effect. Before you know it, your primary income will be from your online business. Now you can work from home!

How do you go about starting a list?

One of the best ways is to create a squeeze page. This is a simple one page website that is designed to capture your visitors name and email address. You can do this by offering a free report, a free subscription to your newsletter, or both.

Once you have their information they are added to your auto responder and they are a part or your list. At this time you would redirect them to your affiliate product website or to your own website with a link.

You have now created a potential customer for your current and your future products.

When you start to email them regularly make sure that you are offering them something of value. Some ideas include: useful information, free reports, free software, and creative ideas that you come across.

You can than suggest your product and offer a link to your product or affiliate page. Build up your product with a strong sales message and watch the sales start pouring in.

One piece of advice, do not oversell to your list. This is a very valuable resource and should not be jeopardized.

You need to give good solid information and only promote worthwhile products. Treat your list as a group of friends that you want to help with the information that you are providing. Not as another dollar in your pocket. Just follow the golden rule and treat your list as you would want to be treated and you will be on your way to success.

Protect The Value of Article Marketing With 3 Important Rules

October 25, 2008 - 8:13 am

Information-based marketing is usually your safest bet for sharing your business online. It is one of the oldest and most effective techniques to get targeted prospects to a website and convert them into buyers. Article writing, submissions, and publications are developing in popularity as people realize the effectiveness.

Several tools and sites already exist that people can use to hasten the process of distributing their articles. These tools are priceless in getting the contents more exposure, but there’s more to consider than blasting away pre-written or self written articles.

Here are three important rules to consider before submitting your contents to article directories and publishers:

1. Do not confuse the reason to promote the articles with the reason to write them.

With your article, there are useful benefits to sharing them with others. Branding, lead generation, and promotion are some added results and should be essential to the creation or revision process.

However, there is only one primary reason why you write an article. Your primary goal is to inform your audience. If the article is not focused on this crucial, most important goal, it will fail to achieve the added benefits of marketing the article. If your article is one big advertisement, no one will be interested in reading the article.

You need to be able to capture your reader with what is in your article, and then make them click on your resource box. The solution, to make that happen, is to ensure quality information and content that is personalized by you, the writer, specifically for the reader.

2. Do not ignore the hidden benefits associated with article marketing.

You may know already that your articles can help you generate additional back-links to your site. Nevertheless, do you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from those same articles?

How do you do that?

The easiest method is to mention keywords at strategic places. Like any keyword optimizing though, pay attention not to overdo the placement. You don’t want to break rule number one. In addition to keyword optimizing your article, some publishers even allow anchor texts, which is also an effective method to improve results. However, realize that the majority of the publishers and directories are not able to support this.

Also keep in mind; it is not solely about the links back to your site and search rankings. Part of doing well in your article marketing requires publishers with a large number of audiences to accept your work. An accepted article has the ability to leverage other brands. Reaching a wider audience also brings more traffic without even needing better search rankings. Although often, the more exposure, then the more back-links, and the better ranking. If you take your time and do it right, it’s just a win-win all around.

Still, these things do not bring in the money by themselves. Other factors can turn your article marketing efforts into an opportunity to improve or increase your earnings if that is your goal.

Take the time to do some careful planning and ensure that your article will serve the function that you intended your marketing to have.

3. Do not publish content that is useless to the the publishers or out of your market.

Perhaps in the process of writing, revising, and publishing articles, you are thinking that all you really need are back links to your site. You might be thinking that you can just submit and forget, and any visitors that are generated as a result are just fine with you.

Do you know what?

Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically.

Frequently, they have established guidelines and specifications regarding acceptable articles for publishing.

You can easily double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles that the directories are looking to receive and share with their readers. All it takes is stumbling on that one publisher, with a hundred thousand readers, to increase your potential audience overnight.

In other words, write the articles that publishers want in their publications if you want your article marketing to work effectively. Obey the standard guidelines! Run spell checks, do your research on a good topic. If you feel your writing skills are not up to speed, you can also hire freelance writers or start with pre-written private label content and modify it to ensure good personalized content on your behalf.

Regardless of the source of your content, what it comes down to is this; you make the choice on your level of involvement and subsequently the results.

You can start getting a little exposure from increased back-links with limited revision and article submission, or enjoy massive exposure from taking a little extra time making a quality piece of information to submit

I’ll leave that choice up to you.

Just remember, less quality equals less effectiveness. Do you really want that for your business? Maintain the quality of your work! Don’t to ruin the power of article marketing for your online business with poor content.

Match Internet Marketing Opportunities to Your Life Choices

August 10, 2008 - 6:52 pm

There are almost unlimited opportunities in Internet Marketing, in terms of the different paths people can choose to take in search of the mighty dollar. But what many newcomers fail to consider up-front is that the different opportunities place very different demands on your time &ndash in ways that can have a significant impact on your lifestyle.

Some Internet Marketing opportunities are very close to being “set and forget.” The Underachiever strategy for marketing information products, promoted by Frank Kern and Ed Dale, is a case in point. Once an information product is written, the selling web site is up with all payment issues handled by a 3rd party, and pay-per-click ads are bringing traffic, there is relatively little to do. Similarly, anyone building quick-and-dirty web sites for Adsense income has a similar opportunity. In contrast to content-rich theme sites that may be lovingly nurtured and grown over weeks, months or even years, these sites can be created in hours (sometimes minutes!), “activated” as far as the search engines go within a few days after very little work, then effectively abandoned … to gain traffic momentum over the months with the free search engines.

But many other opportunities demand a serious commitment of time &ndash at least, unless you are prepared to outsource much of the work.

For example, while eBay does not have to be this way, many people selling on eBay end up in a situation where all the tasks involved in operating the business represent a commitment equivalent to a full-time job. What sounds easy on first glance can involve researching opportunities or products, finding sources or products, even making your own products (information products sold on CD’s, for example), taking or finding photographs, finding or writing product descriptions, putting the final ad together, placing the ads, answering bidders’ questions, packing, shipping, dealing with returns, dealing with payment problems, and so on. It’s still Internet Marketing, of course, and potentially very lucrative, but this can become hard work.

Other types of Internet Marketing opportunities demand you go back regularly to update websites to reflect changes in product or technology so that your sites are always current. This is a common problem with some affiliate marketing sites where there are many links to individual pages on merchants’ sites; while these might offer better conversion rates than links to the merchant’s home pages, these links need to be constantly checked and updated because merchants have a habit of changing products (or even just the specific web pages on which a product is offered).

Some opportunities call on you to respond quickly and consistently to questions from prospects and customers. These might be questions asked by people considering buying your product &ndash in which case you certainly don’t want to make them wait; or, questions by frustrated people having problems downloading a product they just bought from you. The longer the wait, the higher the frustration. Then there are issues of refunds, questions about billing, and many more situations (sometimes just plain dumb questions) that demand the personal touch - at least, until you are large enough or confident enough to hire others to handle the administrative side of the business.

One of the most effective Internet Marketing strategies is, of course, to maintain a list of people interested in your product or the topic in which you are a specialist. For many marketers, this list IS the holy grail; everything else is just a means to build it. That’s because a good list can be like gold; a captive audience of people who already know and trust you. But there’s no question, it can take a serious commitment of time and effort to maintain and service such a list effectively. Now, if all you do is e-mail to them occasionally with a half-dozen lines and an offer to buy some affiliate product from you, that’s one thing; sure, the commitment is minimal, but in return you can expect a high drop-out rate and poor conversions. But if you put together a valuable and interesting newsletter with good formatting, grammar, spelling and content, one designed to develop a solid and lasting relationship with the people on your list, you’re not talking about just a few minutes a week. If you want the most effective use of a list, this demands consistency of timing, too. So you not only have to commit time and brainpower, you have deadlines to meet, too.

One of the issues that had me kicking myself initially was my shotgun approach to building Adsense sites &ndash I built sites that had very little to do with each other. All the Internet marketing experts agreed that if all I was doing was slapping Adsense on those sites, and not collecting Opt-in e-mail addresses, then I was throwing away an income far larger than the one I was making. But there was simply no way I could afford to maintain and effectively service a list for every site if I was to do it justice in terms of establishing a value-based relationship with the people on the lists. Sure, I could have thrown something together, and I know some marketers do exactly that, but that’s not really my style. An anonymous site is one thing, but an e-mail from me, with my name on it, has to represent something of value.

Still on a personal level, I suppose I should also be happy that, for once, my daughter is actually listening to me! Now she’s into Internet Marketing and building her own sites, she is sticking to a common theme for a whole group of different sites. This means that a carefully written single newsletter can be applied to everybody on the List developed from ALL the sites in a group, because it’s relevant and valuable content to every site in the group. There are also valuable SEO advantages from having a group of sites ( a mini-net) on a common theme, of course; the extra traffic means more visitors, which means a bigger List, … without requiring any increase in time committed to the newsletter. When the Affiliate-based income from the List dwarfs the Adsense income, this Internet marketing strategy is the key to some serious coin.

Lead Generation, Your Business Backbone

July 3, 2008 - 5:15 pm

The survival of any business or website can be gauged by the owners ability to generate a steady stream of targeted leads. No leads = No sales and without sales your business doesn’t exist.

If you own Your Own Business or If Your Promoting Affiliate Programs. Your #1 Priority is Building a List of Targeted, Opt-In Subscribers that Know and Trust You. They will be the determining factor whether your business succeeds or fails. You’ve heard it before, “The Money’s in The List” and generating leads is in fact, building your list.

Let’s take a look at email marketing as a lead generation source. Using a signature in all your email communications will bring you an occaisional subscriber and I wouldn’t discount it’s use. However, I’m afraid it won’t bring you an overwelming flood of subscribers. I’d still use it since every subscriber is a lead generated.

I’m assuming you already publish a newsletter/ezine. If not, I strongly suggest you start one now. Doing Ad Swaps with other publishers in your target market is another effective form of email marketing. It’s as easy as You run my ad and I’ll run yours. Fresh eyeballs on your ad in your target market will bring you a good response.

Ezine/Newsletter Co-Ops is yet another way to attract new subscribers/leads. There are quite a few available. My favorite is .subscribeme.net You can get your ad in front of over a million subscribers for fre^e. But you do have to agree to be subscribed to all the ezines in the co-op. This doesn’t have to be a problem. Just use a seperate email account and retrieve the newsletters from there. The above is not the only co-op available. As I said, there are quite a few. You can search your favorite Search Engine for Fr^ee Ezine Co-Ops and chose the one’s that you like.

Buying Leads: This can be risky. I’m sure you’ve seen the ads offering 5, 10, 20,000 double opt-in leads for X amount of dollars. My take on them is this, They may have opted in to someone elses list, but Not mine. Yes there are some very reputable companies that offer very responsive leads but they come at a high premium. If you decide you want to use purchased leads, I can only suggest that you due diligence when researching them.

Solo Ezine Ads: Not just any eZine will do. The response to your ad will depend on the quality of the ezine/newsletter you chose. There are many to chose from. Don’t be fooled by the size of the subscriber base. Bigger is not always better. I’ve found the response to be better with subscribers in the 5000 to 10,000 range.

Pay Per Click Advertising can be an expensive proposition if your not experienced. Test your ad on the less popular sites. Don’t just jump right out there with Google and Yahoo. You can eat up your budget in no time flat. Do a search for PPC’s or Pay Per Click Search Engines and a ton of them will show up. Some even offer a cash incentive for first time users.

Interested leads can be acquired by posting in forums. A word to the wise. Don’t go to these forums thinking you can just post a short blurb about whatever the topic is, leave your sig. go to the next and do the same. They’ll bust you for spamming the board. You’ll probably get banned, worst yet, reported to your ISP. Hang around, get to know people and post when you’ve got something relevant to say. Then you can leave a link to your site in your signature and people interested will often click it, if your post was helpful or interesting. I’ve included a short list below to help you get started.

Submitting articles to ezine publishers and article directories is another lead generation tactic. This method produces very targeted leads. They liked what your article had to say and obviously wanted to read more. This method will also produce links back to your site and in time will improve your search engine position as well as your page rank. Giving you Fr^ee search engine traffic.

The one thing that really matters, regardless of your method of generation, is keeping them in your target market. It makes no sense to advertise to Golfers if your selling Surfboards.

A lead generation strategy should be in place before any other business is done. It’s the backbone of your business.

Use the strategies above and you’ll have an ample supply of leads to market your goods and services to. Of course your gonna love all those trips to the bank. Happy List Building.

How To Use Pop-Up’s Effectively To Generate More Profits!

March 13, 2008 - 12:26 pm

What I’m about to explain to you will change to way you do your online marketing Today, Tomorrow and Years to come with little effort on your part.

This simple But effective technique involves the use of a ‘Pop-Up’ on your website, but, the difference between this technique and just a standard ‘Pop-Up’ or ‘Exit Pop-Up’ as we all see them is that when your potential prospects see them they are more then willing to give you there Name and Email address.

Why you ask?

Because your offering them something of Value for FREE.

As you well know the word ‘Free’ is one of the most Powerful words on the internet when used correctly and when combined with an ‘Pop-Up’… it could make you alot of extra money with little effort.

As a marketer myself, a simple Name and Email Address is worth hundreds, if not thousands of extra dollars a year if I collect and follow-up my leads properly, but, the questions that always seem to arise are…

…How do I do it? …What steps do I need to take?

So… now that I have your attention, let me explain to you how this can be achieved in a simple ‘Step-By-Step’ fashion.

Step #1:

What do you have that you can give away to your visitors as they leave your website that is of value to your visitor and more importantly, will benefit from?(Here’s a hint… Free Reports, eBooks, eCourses, etc.)

(Note: Give away brandable ebooks, reports, etc. with your affiliate links embedded within them. Make sure they’re related to the subject of the content.)

Step #2:

Once you’ve figured out what your going to give away, put together some ad copy for your ‘Pop-Up’ that your going to build that will grab your visitors attention and get them to sign-up for your ‘Free Offer’ or ‘Give Away’ as they leave your website.

(Note: You don’t have write alot, just a few attention grabbing sentences pointing out the ‘Benefits’ of your offer.)

Step #3:

Write a short Solo. You need this because after they sign-up through your web-form from your pop-up, this is what they will receive in there Inbox with either download info or other instructions that you specify in order for them to receive there Report, eBook, eCourse, etc.

(Note: Also, make sure you attach a ‘Signature File’ at the end of your Solo. Many marketer’s forget this part and are losing out on alot of extra profits. Don’t Forget!)

Step #4:

You need to go to your ‘Auto-responder’ management console and set-up an seperate auto-responder with the solo you wrote for your ‘Free Offer’ and/or ‘Give Away’.

Once you’ve set your auto-responder its now time for you to copy the HTML code for your auto-responder’s Web-Form and paste it into the ‘Pop-Up’ you just put together.

(Note: Auto-responder services may very. Simply follow there directions.)

Step #5:

This is the easy part, once you have completed all of the other steps, simply paste your ‘Pop-Up’ code into your desired webpage(s).

If you use pop-up software that creates and automatically inserts the code for you simply select the webpage you want the code to be placed on and the software will do the rest.

Now simply upload your newly formatted webpage and pop-up to your host and start sending it Traffic!

As a general rule, test out your pop-up for your first week a see how it pulling. You may need to tweek it if its not performing to your stardards. All it takes is just a few words to be changed to make your pop-up a success.

That’s it… your Done!

These are the 5 basic steps needed to turn your website into an fully ‘Automated Sales Machine’ that will automatically follow-up your leads 24/7/365 without you lifting a finger.

It may take a little time to set-up initially, but it’ll be worth it in the long run.

Now, I just have one last tip for you.

If you really want to get the most out of your Pop-Up and the leads it brings in simply load-up your already set-up ‘Auto-Responder’ with 6 or 7(or however many you want) follow-up emails and set them to go out every 3 to 4 weeks.

For maximum results make sure that you target the particular Product or Service you are offering or promoting because it makes no sense to offer a Product or Service that doesn’t relate to what your initial offer was that they signed up for.

E-Z GRO Opt-In Mailing List Techniques

November 23, 2007 - 2:15 pm

An opt-in mailing list can be your most solid internet marketing tool. Think of it as a foot in the door &ndash or better yet, a standing invitation to drop by anytime. Research has shown that it takes an average of seven contacts with a prospect to make your first sale.

It’s hard to count on someone returning to your web site seven times &ndash but if you get them there once, and convince them to join your opt-in mailing list, you have a standing invitation to contact them with your offers, at your convenience.

The trick, of course, is turning your web site visitors into opt-in list subscribers. Opt-in list building is easier than you think. There are a number of tried and true methods of list building that you can use &ndash but don’t be afraid to think outside the box to sign up folks who drop by your web site for a short visit.

Start with a good reason for people to join your opt-in list.

People don’t join opt-in lists out of the goodness of their hearts &ndash they opt in because you’re offering them something of value. What have you got to offer?

• Get a 10% discount on all purchases over $25 &ndash exclusive to members of our mailing list!

• Find out about our newest products through our opt-in mailing list!

• We’ll keep you up to date on the latest developments in [insert your field here].

• Special discount prices and offers exclusively for members of our mailing list.

Get the picture? You’re not saying, “Hey, can I keep bugging you to try to sell you stuff?” You’re offering a service &ndash “I’ll let you know when I’ve got good stuff you want to buy.”

Post the invitation to join your opt-in list prominently on your web site. Simple list building truth number one is that people can’t join your opt-in list if they don’t know about it. Put an invitation to join your email list on every single page of your site &ndash and make the invitation enticing.

Practice opt-in list building everywhere.

Include a short invitation to join your opt-in email list as part of your email signature so that it goes out every time you email someone. If you do a presentation or event, personally invite participants or booth visitors to join your opt in email list.

Bribe people to sign up with a free gift.

Bribery is a tried-and-true fast list building technique and website promotion tool. Selling weight loss products? Put together an e-book of weight loss facts about nutrition and offer it as an incentive to sign up for your opt in list. Be creative, and watch your list grow like a weed.

Offer incentives for referrals.

Building Opt-In List - Why You Should (Not) Buy Leads?

September 30, 2007 - 12:01 pm

Building Opt-In List is an essential part of Internet Marketing. Every successful marketer online has a personal list of subscribers and is using it to profit online. Building personal list may sound easy &ndash you just purchase an autoresponder service, create a few messages, place subscription form on your site and drive visitors to your subscription form.

Although these steps are very true and simple, unfortunately building list is not that easy. Someone inexperienced in web promotion will have difficulties in driving traffic necessary for building an opt-in list. Traffic can sometimes be a problem even for a more experienced people.

Getting enough traffic for list building is not the only problem. Many people overlook the importance of keeping constant contact with all members of your list. People tend to be forgetful and if you don’t contact them often, they can easily forget that they even subscribed to your list!

Therefore, to solve problem with traffic many people decide to simply buy leads. Buying leads can save a lot of time necessary for list building. They can also avoid the second problem by creating enough pre-written messages to keep up with their leads for a longer time, or they can use broadcast option often. The idea of buying leads is great and many marketers are using this method, but there is a catch.

Many people don’t like the idea of their e-mail, or other contact info being sold. And once when they subscribed, there probably was a privacy statement saying that their contact information is safe and will never be rented, sold, or used for any purpose whatsoever. It is possible though that they were lied to, or tricked. Subscription forms without privacy statement have a lot lower conversion rates and very often these subscribers are not very responsive.

Other very important reason why leads shouldn’t be bought is because you can never be really sure if you are purchasing a safelist. People willing to profit quickly can easily sell blacklists. They use spam robots to collect as many e-mails as they can online, but instead of sending spam, they decide to earn some money by selling those e-mails. This is even worse because marketer who purchased this list will be accused of spam! Although this probably won’t happen since leads are not just e-mail addresses but also names and other contact info, it is possible!

A successful Internet marketer knows a true value of responsive leads and will not sell them. He has worked hard in building his list and creating a certain relationship with all members of that list. It isn’t likely that he will risk his reputation and trust by selling a responsive list. It is more likely that you will get a non responsive list of leads.

On the other hand it is possible that these leads are fully aware of selling and that they agree with it. In that case buying leads is ok, but you never really know…

If you are interested in buying leads, always use your due diligence whenever you come across some lead selling offer. Make sure you are buying opt-in leads (double opt-ins are even better) and that all of them are aware of a new list owner. If you are not sure of the latter, approach your new leads carefully and even consider asking them to confirm their subscription again. You can lose some leads this way, but it’s much better than to risk spam accusations.
